Why does gas occur?
Many people suffer from gas. This problem is found in many people in old age. Even children can get gas. The main cause of gas or flatulence is the habit of swallowing air without knowing it.
People who talk a lot (eg teachers, political leaders) thus swallow more air and suffer from gas. Babies also swallow air while drinking milk and this causes gas and stomach aches.
In the large intestine, gas is produced despite the action of microorganisms on food. Apart from this, if the stool is not cleared or if there is a problem of constipation, the faeces remain in the body and gases are formed despite the decomposition of these faeces. When gas builds up, it puts stress on the intestinal wall. It causes stomach ache. The head also hurts.
Meal times should be regular to avoid gas problem. Eat with little hunger. Eat gram dal or oily ghee foods less. Sedentary workers should exercise a lot. Everyone should at least try to walk as much as possible.
